The motivation, excitement, and effort were there as I was working on my different projects. Then, all of a sudden at the beginning of this year, I felt like I didn’t have the energy, motivation, excitement, and effort to work on one of my particular projects, my blog posts. A few times I would reflect by asking myself the question, “What is the reason for the lack of motivation and energy?” I thought of a couple of reasons such as: Covid-19 with work combined, which was exhausting mentally and physically; and comparison of what other women are doing to empower women. Over time, I just stopped thinking about my blog posts.

Have you ever found yourself in that sort of place? It could be you’ve started something, and partway through, you stop for whatever reason.

Then, this project starts collecting dust. Well, I decided to restart. I decided to write this blog post though many months have come and gone. I’m back again. My motivation, excitement, and effort is here. It’s not in big spurts. It’s in little spurts. However, the little is what has got me to restart. I needed to remind myself what is the reason I started in the first place. Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves. Another important thing is to give ourselves grace when we’ve fallen. I’ve gotten back up, and have removed the dust. You can do likewise. Remind yourself why you started and give yourself grace.

My prayer for you is Isaiah 43:18-19. My friend, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” God loves doing new things in our lives. Let’s be open to see what He is doing, and not dwell on the past.

Be encouraged,
