Comparison magnifies the differences. It highlights what one doesn’t have. So, when I was single I felt like I was missing something. I felt like being single wasn’t something to be proud of. Inwardly, I felt less than. Less than the woman who was married. Was it the questions from people who asked, “When are you getting married?”, “Don’t you want to get married?” or was it the ongoing sight of married couples all around? In society, there are so many things that we can compare ourselves with. The list is endless. We can feel like we’re missing something or that we are less than because of whatever it is we are supposedly missing, or supposed to have because society says we are to have it. You are not less than. If you are in a season where you are waiting for something to happen, remember your identity is not tied to what’s not, and what went wrong, or what didn’t occur yet. You are enough. More importantly, you are deeply loved by God.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for this beautiful soul. Lord, let her trade any “less than” thoughts for the truth of being enough. Bring healing to her mind, heart, and spirit. Allow her to see Your love in ways that she has never even imagined.

Be encouraged,
